Great read! How do I create my own micro philosophy?

Paul Musso, PhD's avatar

Alex,

I created a complete course that walks you through it in five weeks here: https://stan.store/paulmussophilosophy/p/microphilosophy-foundations-course-only

This is so cool

Thanks Michael, what did you find cool about it?

I have been trying to do this unconsciously for a long time, with some success. I’ve been seeking for two things: first principles, and practical utility. But I’ve struggled to have the time to flesh out what’s downstream of principles. But I tend to be drawn to what I find to be true, even if it’s not necessarily a generative worldview. Lots to think about it!

Awesome Michael. I would love to learn more about how exactly you have been doing this. Super cool. You may be interested in my approach in the foundations course.

I have been thinking more recently how personal responsibility is a foundation stone for ethical consideration 🤔

Couldn't love this piece any more. It's returned me to the idea that there needs to be a version of this for leadership.

Awesome article, thank you. You've sparked a mini-fire in my belly , and I want to really be intentional and deliberate with establishing my own micro-philosophy. Sort of amazing that we can live years and years without even really thinking about it. I'd love to get the course please.

Paul Musso, PhD's avatar

It’s crazy isn’t it? I am so puzzled by the idea that we can just live and live and live and have little clarity on our beliefs.

There are many paths up the mountain, but the steps we take are ours and no one exactly follows anothers footsteps.

Love this perspective! It put into words everything I’ve been feeling with my personal faith versus organized religion and the tension often felt there.

Paul Musso, PhD's avatar

That’s awesome Selena. I wrote a new article that addresses “toxic religion” a bit. You might like it.
