Welcome to PHIL 1: Introduction To Philosophy!
I just wanted to take a moment and personally thank you for choosing to entrust me as your philosophical guide. I genuinely believe that philosophy has nearly unlimited transformative power, so I do not take this role lightly. It has become my life’s work to become the best philosophical guide that I can possibly be. I am very much looking forward to learning from and with each and every one of you.
Before I introduce the course more formally, I just want to set a few expectations about what it means to study philosophy through The Micro-University. For the past few months, this space has become somewhere that mature and thoughtful adults can not only learn complex philosophy, but be their full selves. It is a space where we can seriously discuss controversial, as well as have some fun.
